Three-year-old Joshua spits out his broccoli, scrunches his face and shouts, "Yuck!" His mother can’t understand why he distaste

s broccoli so much, because she finds it to be rather bland. Why might Joshua and his mother have such different reactions to the taste of broccoli?

Answer: As we get older, the overall number of taste buds decreases.

Explanation: A person's sense of taste and smell changes as the person grow older. When a person is at the age of 40 and 50 their taste buds decreases everything shrinks and loses their crucial functions by the time someone reaches an age of 60 they begin to fails distinguishing between what is sweet , salty ,bitter and sour. Joshua's mom taste bands are no longer as sharp as that of Joshua.
