Answer:

Energy supply

Explanation:

Nutrition, which is the ability to obtain food, is one of the characteristics of living organisms. However, the food ingested by organisms serve series of purposes in their system. These functions include maintaining biomass (total weight), and waste production as mentioned in the question.

In addition to this, one important role food ingestion plays in living organism is the SUPPLY OF ENERGY. Food ingested is broken down into smaller units, which is then used by the cells to synthesize energy in form of ATP. This process in living organisms is called RESPIRATION.

The energy (ATP) is used to power various cellular functions undergone by the organism.

Which part of the brain is associated with conscious thought
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

Cerebral cortex of the Cerebrum

Explanation:

The body directs our body's internal functions. These functions are made possible by four major regions of the brain viz: The Cerebrum, Diencephalon, Cerebellum and Brain stem.

The Cerebrum is the largest brain structure, making up most of the total brain, and a part of the forebrain. The cerebrum's prominent outer portion, the cerebral cortex, not only processes sensory and motor information but also enables CONSCIOUSNESS (our ability to consider ourselves and the outside world), thoughts, emotion, reasoning and memory.

The cerebral cortex is composed of the right and left hemispheres joined by the corpus callosum. Each cerebral hemisphere can be subdivided into four lobes (Frontal, Parietal, Temporal, and Occipital) associated with different functions.

Use the normal ecg trace below to determine how many seconds the trace represents as well as the heart rate.
mezya [45]
Attached is the image of the concerned ECG reading.

In reading the ECG, first you read the heart rate. To read the heart rate, you must count for the number of small boxes in between QRS complexes, specifically R-R intervals. These number of small boxes will then be used to divide 1500. In this example, there are 20 small boxes between R-R intervals. 1500 divided by 20 is 75, so the heart rate of this ECG reading is 75 beats per minute.

Another way, albeit less accurate, is to count the big squares between R-R intervals and instead of dividing it by 1500, you divide it by 300.

timofeeve [1]

Answer:

1 DDRR - Red, non-dexter

2 DDRr - Roan, non-dexter

2 DdRR - Red, dexter

4 DdRr - Roan, dexter

1 DDrr - white, non-dexter

2 Ddrr - white, dexter

Explanation:

Dexter is deleterious in homozygous condition, hence, phenotypes are heterozygous.

Roan are also heterozygous.

If dexter allele is represented by D, non dexter individuals will be DD dexter individuals will have the genotype Dd.

If colour in cattle is represented by R, red individuals will be RR, white will be rr, then roan colour will be Rr.

Hence, roan dexter cow and roan dexter bull will both have DdRr genotypes.

Crossing the two: DdRr x DdRr

Progeny:

1 DDRR - Red, non-dexter

2 DDRr - Roan, non-dexter

2 DdRR - Red, dexter

4 DdRr - Roan, dexter

1 DDrr - white, non-dexter

2 Ddrr - white, dexter

Others that are either aborted or stillbirths include:

1 ddRR

2 ddRr

1 ddrr
