The Progressive Era Conservation Movement was a social movement taking place during the late 19th and 20th century that saw a resurgence in environmental conservation following the drastic exploitation of natural resources in the United States. Supporters of this movement included President Theodore Roosevelt who created state entities to preserve natural resources and lands.

The Hetch-Hetchy debate discussed the incorporation of water resources into San Fransisco's city planning, specifically the damming of an important river in Yosemite in order to grow the new city or the conservation of wild lands. Congress debated the issue, pitting conservationists and preservationists against one another, eventually, conservationists were victorious seeing a dam built in the Hetch Hetchy Valley.

The Editor,

Washington.

Sir,

The purpose of writing this letter is to describe the physical and emotional hardships the Cherokees faced during the removal by Andrew Jackson’s policy of forced removal of American Indians from their lands. This is the worse policy of the President to remove the actual residents from their lands. These migrants faced a lot of problems during migration. Now it is our duty to give back the lands to the American Indians tribes and this can only be possible if you highlight this issue before the nation through your Newspaper and convince the President to change the policy of removing American Indians from their lands.

Thanking you.

Who actually discovered America?
makkiz [27]
The voyages of Christopher Columbus led to the first lasting European contact with the Americas, inaugurating a period of European exploration, conquest, and colonization that lasted for several centuries. Columbus was not the first European explorer to reach the Americas having been preceded by the Norse expedition led by Leif Erikson in the 11th century. Leif Erikson was an Icelandic explorer considered by some as the first European to land in North America (excluding Greenland), before Columbus. There is much debate as some say that many different people, spanning centuries, set foot on the New World (as the Americas were called) before Columbus, and, of course, the ancestors of the Native Americans had already discovered it many years before.
