Answer:

The correct answer is C. The Chinese government responded to demands for democratic reforms in Tiananmen Square with military force.

Explanation:

After the protests for democratic reforms in Tiananmen Square and the calls of the Government asking for its dissolution, a division of criteria on how to respond to the demonstrators took place within the Communist Party. The decision was to suppress the protests by force, instead of accessing their demands. On May 20, 1989, the government declared martial law and on the night of June 3, sent the tanks and army infantry to Tiananmen Square to dissolve the protest. There were approximately 800 dead and 10,000 wounded.

After the violence, the government undertook a large number of arrests to suppress the instigators of the movement, expelled the foreign press and strictly controlled the coverage of events in the Chinese press. The cruel repression of the protest in Tiananmen Square caused international condemnation of the actions of the Government of the People's Republic of China.

How could the sinking of the titanic have been prevented
lorasvet [3.4K]
The ship's watertight bulkheads could have been extended and fully sealed to reduce the risk of flooding. Titanic was constructed with transverse bulkheads (i.e. walls) to divide the ship into 16 watertight compartments, which could be sealed off with doors operated either manually or remotely from the bridge.
