At Hillside Middle School, lunchtime is a free period for teachers. They spend most of this time sending students outside. We ar

e supposed to stay outside until the bell rings at the end of the lunch period, but it is too hot. Instead, students are hanging out in the hallways. The school has started giving detention to anyone caught inside during lunch.
This problem can be solved by building covered porches in the school courtyard. Then, we will have a place where we can hang out in the shade. Our teachers will be able to spend their free period however they want.

John Bright, 5th grade

How can the reader tell that this letter is written in a proposition and support style?

A. John Bright suggests that teachers should spend their free period entertaining the students instead of working.

B. John Bright says that students should be allowed inside during lunch and demands that they not get detention for it.

C. John Bright suggests a solution for students hanging out inside during lunch and shows the benefits of this solution.

D. John Bright proposes that only 5th grade students be allowed inside at lunch and gives reasons to support his idea.
