They had 17/12 ( 17 over 12, or 1 and 5 over 12)
So the fractions have to have the same denominator. 12 is their common denominator. So:
3/4 = 9/12
2/3=8/12

8/12+9/12= 17/12 or 1 and 5/12

Dr. Potter provides vaccinations against polio and measles. Each polio vaccination consists of 444 doses, and each measles vacci
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

37 polio vaccinations and 23 measles vaccination.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of polio vaccination given=x

Let the number of measles vaccination given=y

Dr. Potter gave a total of 60 vaccinations

x+y=60

Since each polio vaccination consists of 4 doses, and each measles vaccination consists of 2 doses. A total of 184 doses was given out.

4x+2y=184

To find the values of x and y, we solve the two equations simultaneously.

x+y=60             (1)

4x+2y=184        (2)

From (1), x=60-y

Substitute x=60-y into equation 2.

4x+2y=184

4(60-y)+2y=184

240-4y+2y=184

240-184=4y-2y

56=2y

Divode both sides by 2

y=23

Recall earlier that x=60-y

x=60-23=37

Dr Potter gave 37 polio vaccinations and 23 measles vaccination.

Someone help me please☹️
Levart [38]

Answer:

my best advice: look at the y-intercepts!

Step-by-step explanation:

when the equations are set out like this, the last number (in this case "+4" and "-2"), represents where they cross the y axis. this gives you a great place to start.

if you plot (0, 4) for the first equation, you can then move right one square and down one square to get the next point in the equation.

the next one starts with (0, -2) and goes right one square and up two

1. The three salespeople for a local advertising firm are Sara, Kenny, and Leila. Sara sold $3350 in ads, Kenny sold $1368, and
Dominik [7]

Answer:

\text{Fraction of Sara sold }= \dfrac{1675}{2587}

\text{Fraction of Kenny sold }= \dfrac{684}{2587}

\text{Fraction of Leila sold }= \dfrac{228}{2587}

Step-by-step explanation:

The three salespeople for a local advertising firm are sara, Kenny and Leila.

Sara sold total ads = $3350

Kenny sold total ads = $1368

Leila sold total ads = $456

First we calculate total sale of all three = 3350 + 1368 + 456 = $5174

We need to find fraction of total sale with each person sell.

\text{Fraction of Sara sold }=\dfrac{\text{Sara total sold}}{\text{Total sale by all three}}

\text{Fraction of Sara sold }=\dfrac{3350}{5174}\Rightarrow\dfrac{1675}{2587}\approx 64.75\%

\text{Fraction of Kenny sold }=\dfrac{\text{Kenny total sold}}{\text{Total sale by all three}}

\text{Fraction of Kenny sold }=\dfrac{1368}{5174}\Rightarrow\dfrac{684}{2587}\approx 26.45\%

\text{Fraction of Leila sold }=\dfrac{\text{Leila total sold}}{\text{Total sale by all three}}

\text{Fraction of Leila sold }=\dfrac{456}{5174}\Rightarrow\dfrac{228}{2587}\approx 8.8\%
