4/9 + 4/9 + 2/5

8/9 + 2/5

 - 8/9 ⋅ 5/5 = 40/45

 - 2/5 ⋅ 9/9 = 18/45

40/45 + 18/45 = 58/45

The shape of the distribution of the time required to get an oil change at a 10-minute oil-change facility is unknown. However,
Bad White [126]

Answer:

a) sample size ≥ 30

b) 0.0017

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The central limit theorem states that for population with mean μ and standard deviation σ and take sufficiently large random samples from the population. This will hold provided the sample size is sufficiently large (usually n > 30) for a normal population.

Therefore the sample size should be greater or equal to 30 i.e n ≥ 30.

b) Given that n = 45, μ = 11.4 minutes and σ = 3.2 minutes, the z score (z) is given by the equation:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } }

Substituting values to get:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } }= \frac{10-11.4}{\frac{3.2}{\sqrt{45} } }=-2.93

Using the z table:

P(x < 10) = P(z < -2.93) = 0.0017

the probability that a random sample of n=45 oil changes results in a sample mean time of less than 10 minutes is 0.0017

Find the slope of the line that would pass
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we go!

Slope Formula:

\frac{ {y}^{2} -  {y}^{1}  }{ {x}^{2} -  {x}^{1} }

What we know: (-4, -52) and (-1, -22)

Plug in the numbers!

\frac{ - 52 - ( - 22)}{ - 4 - ( - 1)}

Fix it!

\frac{ - 52 + 22}{ - 4 + 1}

Add

\frac{ - 30}{ - 3}

Divide

(negative divided by a negative is a positive!!)

Slope is 10

Hope this helps!

2 - 4 ( y + 4 ) = 2y + 16 solve for y
Andreyy89

Answer:

y = -5

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve for a variable, take the following steps:

  • Distribute by multiplying into each term in the parenthesis
  • Combine like terms
  • Move terms across the equal sign using inverse operations

2 - 4 (y + 4) = 2y + 16            Distribute

2 - 4y - 16 = 2y + 16              Combine 2-16

-14 - 4y = 2y + 16                  Add 4y to both sides

-14 = 6y + 16                          Subtract 16 to both sides

-30 = 6y                                Divide by 6

y = -5
