9 chicken meals = 9($5)= $45

15 burger meals = 15($6) = $90

Total amount = $90+$45 = $135

Percent spent on chicken meals = [$40 ÷ $135] x 100
                                                       = 0.296 x 100
                                                        = 29.6% or approximately 30%
