Which of the following was a major advantage to the Byzantine Empire's geographic location?

History

Answer : It was on a major trade route between Europe and Asia. Constantinople, the Empire's capital, was one of the main hubs of the Silk Road (a major trade route spanning much of Asia), as well as being located on the Bosporus, the only sea route between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.

Explanation:As for the other options:

1) It was not on an island, the empire mostly spanned Greece and Turkey. Its location was not unknown by its enemies either, the Byzantines were frequently attacked by Muslim emirates and kingdoms in modern-day Bulgaria and Serbia.

2) It was not surrounded by many friendly nations, the empire was at war with enemies on both sides of its frontier for much of its history - the main religion was Greek Orthodoxy, so neighbouring Catholic and Islamic states wanted to conquer it.

3) It did not control almost all the area of the former Roman Empire, it only controlled parts of the eastern section of the Roman Empire. The only exception to this was during the reign of the Emperor Justinian, who succeeded on conquering a large chunk of the western half. However, these territories were soon lost after his death.

In 1803 who was French Napoleon Bonaparte fighting with in Europe?
nadya68 [22]

Answer:

Britain

From 1803 to 1805 Napoleon had only the British to fight; and again France could hope for victory only by landing an army in the British Isles, whereas the British could defeat Napoleon only by forming a Continental coalition against him.

Describe the consequences of Joseph McCarthy’s accusations against Communists in the State Department. How did Congress and the
zavuch27 [327]
Okay, so Joseph McCarthy was a hated U.S. senator from Wisconsin. He was so unpopular he was labeled the worst senator in the United States and he knew he could never get re-elected. So, he knew that many Americans feared Communism and he capitalized on this fact by saying he had a list of over 200 government executives who are under suspicion of being Communist spies who are trying to infiltrate the government and send secrets back to the Soviet Union. This struck fear into many Americans because why would we want the U.S. to be Communist. It was a scary thought and this began the mistrust in the U.S. government. Anyway, McCarthy's famous Communist witch hunt trials ensued which accused and tried high up government officials of Communist sympathies. This practice of accusing people of something without real evidence began to be called McCarthyism. The feeling during this time closely resembled the Salem Witch Hunt/Trials of the 1600's in America.

The section of the united states that wanted war with Britain were the?
kupik [55]
There is a misconception with this question. The United States of America never wanted war with Britain. The United States of America wanted independence. More obvious considering the intolerable acts and other events prior to the American Revolutionary War. There were also troubles that lead to the War of 1812, to learn more on those I recommend doing librarian and internet research.

If you by section, you mean the document that states the United States of America as an independent republic, that would be the
Declaration of Independence.

If by section you mean land, that would be the Thirteen Colonies which I will show a picture of. On the globe, this is in the mid-eastern shore of North America.
