If the farmer's plot of land is 6 by 18, he has 6 \cdot 18 = 108 square meters of land. Each square meters yields 2kg of corn, so 108 square meters yield 108\cdot 2 = 216 kg of corn. So, the farmer's plot is not enough.

Since every square meter yields 2kg of corn, m square meters yield 2m kg of corn. So, in order to yield 600 kg, you need

2m = 600 \implies m = 300 square meters of plot.

Is -1 part of the set of whole numbers
s2008m [1.1K]

No.  The whole numbers are the natural numbers (counting numbers, 1, 2, 3...), but starting with zero instead of one.   -1 is an integer but not a whole number.

18.84 because the formula to find the volume of a cone is pie*r^2*h/3 and your radius is 3 and the height is 2, so if you plug those in the equation and calculate it this should be your answer

Lori buys a $1500 certificate of deposit (CD) that earns 6% interest that compounds monthly. How much will the CD be worth in:
Studentka2010 [4]

Answer:

$1500

6% interest

use the formula...

P(1+(r/100))^n

where P=initial amount

r=interest rate

t=time period elapsed

so ... for 5 years we get

$1500(1+(6/100))^5 = $1500(1.06)^5 = 2007.3383664

for 10 years

1500(1.06)^10 = 2686.271544814228043264

468 months = 39 years

1500(1.06)^39=14555.261231781943250017719606544
