1- The following are the examples of mechanisms which help maintain homeostasis:

  • Increase heart rate in response to exercise.
  • Insulin secretion in response to high blood sugar.
  • Antibodies binding to virus.

2- Correct order is as follows:

  • Body temperature exceeds 98.6 degrees F
  • nerve cells send message from skin to the brain
  • temperatures regulation center in the brain sends out signals
  • sweat glands throughout the body activate to cool off skin surface
  • body returned to normal temperature around 98.6 degrees F

3- Low blood sugar would likely a stimulus that would cause the body to initiate feedback mechanisms. Because If blood glucose gets too low, the body releases glucagon, which causes the release of glucose from some of the body’s cells. And this is an example of feedback mechanism.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors cause an antidepressant effect by
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

C. inhibiting the breakdown of neurotransmitters in the brain

Explanation:

Monoamino oxidase (MAO) facilitates the break down and removal of neurotransmitters like nor-epinephrine, epinephrine, serotonin in brain which have excitatory effects on neurons. When these neurotransmitters are degraded by MAO, this would lead to decreased excitatory level of neurons and it will become less functionable as seen in most of the patients suffering from depression, panic disorders, social disphobia and some neurodegenerative disease.

Monoaminooxidase Inhibitors prevents the degradation of above mentioned neurotransmitters which leads to increasing their levels and concentration which allows them to work and influence on neurons effected by depression.
