Given 28.2 grams of an unknown substance, if the substance absorbs 2165 joules of energy and the temperature increases by 35 Kel

vin, what is the specific heat of the substance? 2.14 x 106 J/g·K 2.19 x 100 J/g·K 5.73 x 10-4 J/g·K 2.69 x 103 J/g·K If someone could tell me how to do it as well, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think the answer should be 2.19 J/g*K. The specific heat means the energy absorbed by 1 g substance to increase 1 Kelvin temperature. And keep the unit the same.

Answer:

The specific heat of the substance is 2.19 J/gK

Explanation:

<u>Given:</u>

Mass of the substance, m = 28.2 g

Heat absorbed, q = 2165 J

The change in temperature, ΔT = 35 K

<u>To determine:</u>

The specific heat c of the substance

<u>Explanation:</u>

The amount of heat (q) absorbed (or evolved) by  a substance of mass (m) in order to bring a temperature change of (ΔT) is given as:

q = mc\Delta T

c = \frac{q}{m\Delta T}

In this case:

c = \frac{2165 J}{28.2g *35K }=2.19 J/g K

Consider the reaction. At equilibrium, the concentrations are as follows. [NOCl] = 1.4 ´ 10–2 M [NO] = 1.2 ´ 10–3 M [Cl2] = 2.2
EastWind [94]
2NOCl ⇄ 2NO + Cl₂

K = [NO]²[Cl₂]/[NOCl]
K = [0,0012]²[0,0022]/[0,014]²
K = 0,000000003/0,000196
K = 0,000016163

What is the mole fraction of potassium dichromate, K2Cr2O7, in a solution prepared from 24.42 g of potassium dichromate and 240.
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

6.19\times 10^{-3} is the mole fraction of potassium dichromate.

Explanation:

Mass of potassium dichromate = 24.42 g

Moles of  potassium dichromate =n_1=\frac{24.42 g}{294.185 g/mol}=0.0830 mol

Mass of water = 240.0 g

Moles of water =n_2=\frac{240.0 g}{18.015 g/mol}=13.3222 mol

Mole fraction is calculated by:

\chi_1=\frac{n_1}{n_1+n_2}

\chi_1=\frac{0.0830 mol}{0.0830 mol+13.3222 mol}=0.00619=6.19\times 10^{-3}

6.19\times 10^{-3} is the mole fraction of potassium dichromate.

Write the equilibrium constant expression Kc for the following reaction.2H20(g) ---------&gt; O2(g) + 2H2(g) &lt;---------Do not
Komok [63]

Answer:

K_c\text{ = }\frac{[O_2][H_2]\placeholder{⬚}^2}{[H_2O]\placeholder{⬚}^2}

Explanation:

Here, we want to write the equilibrium constant expression

To write this, we raise the concentrations of the reactants and products to the coefficient before them. These concentrations are represented by square brackets in which the chemical formula of the compound is placed

We place the representation of the products over that of the reactants

We have the expression written as follows:

K_c\text{ =  }\frac{[H_2]\placeholder{⬚}^2[O_2]}{[H_2O]\placeholder{⬚}^2}
