So the word 'of' can be intrerprited as multiply so
1/8 of 3/4=(1*3)/(8*4)=3/32
if you multiply 3/32 by 8 you will get 24/32 or3/4
so the answer is 3/32

The equation of a line that goes through the points (0,0) and (300000,365)
olga_2 [115]
\bf \begin{array}{ccccccccc}
&&x_1&&y_1&&x_2&&y_2\\
%  (a,b)
&&(~ 0 &,& 0~)
%  (c,d)
&&(~ 300000 &,& 365~)
\end{array}
\\\\\\
% slope  = m
slope =  m\implies
\cfrac{\stackrel{rise}{ y_2- y_1}}{\stackrel{run}{ x_2- x_1}}\implies \cfrac{365-0}{300000-0}\\\\\\ \cfrac{365}{300000}\implies \cfrac{73}{60000}

\bf \stackrel{\textit{point-slope form}}{y- y_1= m(x- x_1)}\implies y-0=\cfrac{73}{60000}(x-0)\implies y=\cfrac{73}{60000}x

Sandra’s lunch came to $12.84 plus 15% tax. What was the total cost of her lunch?
Nimfa-mama [501]

The total would be $14.77

because we will do 0.15x12.84 which is 14.766 but since this is money we round to the nearest hundredth , and that is $14.77

Suppose a population of 250 crickets doubles in size every 6 months. how many crickets will there be after 2 years?
grandymaker [24]
Well if the original population is 250 crickets after 6 months it would double to 500. After another 6 months (A year now) it would again double in size to 1000 and so on for 2 more periods of 6 months. After doubling two more times you get 4000, or answer D.
