Answer : The distance across the lake (PQ) is, 3.24 km

Step-by-step explanation :

As we are given that ∆PQR and ∆STR are similar triangles.

By (BPT) basic proportionality theorem,

\frac{TR}{QR}=\frac{ST}{PQ}     ............(1)

Given:

Length of TR = 1.25 km

Length of ST = 1.80 km

Length of QR = 2.25 km

Now put all the given values in the equation 1, we get:

\frac{1.25}{2.25}=\frac{1.80}{PQ}

PQ=3.24

Thus, the distance across the lake (PQ) is, 3.24 km

A pack of 12 sodas cost 5.04$ what is the unit rate of each soda
Dovator [93]

For this case we propose the following expression:

x: Variable representing the unit rate of each soda

So:x = \frac {5.04} {12} \frac {dollar} {soda}\\x = 0.42 \frac {dollar} {soda}

Thus, 0.42 dollars is paid for each soda.

Answer:

the unit rate of each soda is 0.42 \frac {dolar} {soda}

Sheldon harvests the strawberries and tomatoes in his garden.
shtirl [24]

Answer:

A. 3 13/20

B.3.8 kg

C.Strawberries

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to solve this we just need to find the amount of strawberries he picked, and if he picked 1 2/5 less in the morning and in the morning he picked 2 1/4, we just add that up to know how much he picked in the afternoon:

1\frac{2}{5}+ 2\frac{1}{4}\\1 \frac{2(4)}{20}+ 2\frac{1(5)}{20}\\1 \frac{8}{20}+ 2\frac{5}{20}\\\\3\frac{13}{20}

So in the afternoon he picked 3\frac{13}{20}.

Now he picked 5 3/10 kg of tomatoes but 1.5 were rotten, we just have to withdraw the rotten from the total:

5\frac{3}{10} -1\frac{1}{2} \\5\frac{3}{10} -1\frac{5}{10} \\4\frac{3-5}{10} \\3\frac{13-5}{10} \\3\frac{8}{10}

So now we know that he picked 3\frac{8}{10} kg of good tomatoes.

If he picked in the afternoon and the morning 5.05 kg of strawberries, he picked more strawberries than tomatoes.
