How do you do the formula a2+b2=c2

Mathematics

In the formula a^2 + b^2 = c^2, a is (most often) the height of the triangle, b is the length of the triangle, and c is the last side-length connecting a and b, called the hypotenuse. The formula states that a and b must form a 90 degree angle, and that a^2 + b^2 = c^2.

So, to find x in this triangle:

x^2 + 8^2 = 12^2
x^2 + 64 = 144
x^2 = 80
x = 8.94

Hope this helps!

Determine whether the given lengths can be sides of a right triangle. Explain. 10 in., 24 in., 26 in.
notsponge [240]
10 in, 24 in, and 26 in. By the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem, the lengths must satisfy the equation c² = a² + b². Let 26 = hypotenuse and 10 and 24 the legs of the triangle.
26² = 10² + 24²
676 = 100 + 576
676 = 676.
Yes, they can be lengths of a right triangle.

PLEEEASE HELP ME, QUICK!!!! ITS WORTH 20 POINTS!!!

Answer:

Sometimes true. It may be true at times if x or y equal each other, but if they do not equal each other it is not true

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given two expressions:  x -3 and y  - 3

Here x and y are two different variables.

These expressions are equal, when the value of x and the value of y are equal.

x - 3 = y -3 if x = y.

Therefore, the two expressions have the same value in sometimes.

That is, when x = y, then the value of two expressions are the same.

Example.

If x = 2 and y = 2, then

x - 3 = y - 3

2 - 3 = 2 - 3

-1 = -1

If they have different values, for x =  2 and y = 3

x - 3 = y - 3

2 - 3 = 3 -3

-1 = 0

Which is not true.

Therefore, the answer is sometimes.
