If this is for Geography then in a way yes because depending on where in the would you are, it will determines the pigment of your skin. For example, compare the people who live near the equator to those who live closer towards the north or south pole. Those who live in the tropic experience both high rain seasons and warmer climates meaning that their skin has to gain high melanin in order to survive in those climates. Where as in areas such as the South pole who do not get enough sunlight meaning that they don't need as much melanin in their skin creating a lighter pigment
