The gardener wanted to find the best water to use for growing his plants. If plants need a more neutral pH water for optimal gro

wth, then a pH that is too high or too low will result in less plant growth. The gardener had 4 groups of water treated plants:
1. pH 4 acid water;
2. tap water of pH 6.8;
3. near neutral deionized water;
4. pH 8 basic water.
He would water everyday and every 3 days the gardener would measure and record the height of the plants in centimeters. After 5 weeks the gardener concluded that the tap and deionized water were almost double the height as the pH 4 and pH 8 water.

Identify the:
1. Independent Variable
2. Dependent Variable
3. Control

What is the conclusion from the experiment?

• Undetermined

• Reject hypothesis

• Accept hypothesis

There are 4 consecutive odd integers that sum to 120.
allsm [11]

Answer:

27, 29, 31, 33

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the smallest odd integer then...

x+2 represents the second

x+4 represents the third

x+6 represents the fourth

We can use this to set up an equation:

x+x+2+x+4+x+6=120

Combine like terms

4x+12=120

Subtract 12 from both sides

4x=108

Divide both sides by 2

x=27

The integers are 27, 29, 31, 33

If r(x) = 2 – x2 and w(x) = x – 2, what is the range of w(r(x))
Paladinen [302]
Range is the outputs possible
w(r(x))=(2-x^2)-2
w(r(x))=2-x^2-2
w(r(x))=-x^2

therefor the range is from 0 to -∞

A rectangular gasoline tank can hold 45.0 kg of gasoline when full. what is the depth of the tank if it is 0.450 m wide by 0.900
garri49 [273]
The answer is 0.154 m

Step 1. Calculate the volume of gasoline tank (V) using the known mass (m) and density of gasoline (D).
D = m/V
⇒   V = m/D
D = 719.7 kg/m³
m = 45.0 kg
V = 45.0 kg/719.7 kg/m³ = 0.0625 m³

Step 2. Calculate the depth of the tank (d) using the known volume (V) of gasoline and width (w) and length (l) of the tank:
V = d * w * l
0.0625 = d * 0.900 * 0.450
0.0625 = d * 0.405
d = 0.0625  / 0.405
d = 0.154 m
