The scale factor changes by 1/8.

The numerator, 1 stays the same; the denominator changes. 16/2 = 8; it is 1/8 the scale of the previous scale.

Can someone help me understand Percent of Change?
mamaluj [8]
To solve a problem about percent of change, you need to divide the amount of change by the original amount. To find the amount of change, subtract the initial amount from the final amount. The formula for percent of change can be written:

Percent of Change = (Final amount - Initial amount)/Initial amount

For example, If you start with 100 and end with 120, you would write:

Percent of change = (120 - 100)/100

Percent of change = 20/100

Percent of change = .2

Since you want a percent, you need to change the decimal to a percent. To do this, move the decmial place 2 places to the right and add a percent sign.

Percent of change = 20%

d-13=5 is actually suppose to be solved liek this:

d - 13 = 5

   +13   +13

The absoulte value of 13 is 13, it is negative so you have to add 13 to get to 0 so it can be cancelled out.

Answer:

20 + 2x = 4x

Step-by-step explanation:

So you are setting the two expressions equal to each other.

buying a membership card  and paying each time looks like this: 20 + 2x where x is the number of times you go to the gym.  20 dollars base then 2 each time you go.

4 each time you go is just 4x

so just set the two equal to each other.

20 + 2x = 4x

If you solve it you will get x = something, which would be the number of times to make the two equal.
