What is the value of n in the equation 1/2(n – 4) – 3 = 3 – (2n + 3)?
Travka [436]
Distribute 1/2 to <span>(n – 4):

</span>\frac{1}{2} \times n = \frac{1}{2}n
\frac{1}{2} \times -4 = -2
<span>
Subtract (2n + 3):

</span>- (2n + 3) = -2n -3
<span>
Your equation should now look like this:

</span>\frac{1}{2}n - 2 - 3 = 3 - 2n - 3
<span>
Combine like terms on both sides:

</span>-2 - 3 = -5
3 - 3 = 0
\frac{1}{2}n - 5 = -2n
<span>
Subtract 1/2n from both sides:

</span>-5 = -\frac{5}{2}n
<span>
Divide both sides by -5/2 to get n by itself:

</span>n = 2
<span>
The value of n is 2.</span>

Find the measure of angle Y. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. (Please type the numerical answer only)
Sati [7]

Answer:

y = 11.54°

Step-by-step explanation:

Reference angle = y°

Opposite side length = 4

Hypotenuse = 20

Apply trigonometric function SOH:

Sin(y) = \frac{Opp}{Hyp}

Sin(y) = \frac{4}{20}

Sin(y) = 0.2

y = Sin^{-1}(0.2)

y = 11.536959° ≈ 11.54° (nearest hundredth)

A sandwich decrease from $8 to $6 what is the percentage decrease
kati45 [8]

Answer:

25%

Step-by-step explanation:

First find the difference in price= $8-$6 = $2

Now, find percentage decrease in the price of sandwich.

Percentage decrease= (difference in price/ original price) *100

                                   = \frac{2}{8} *100

                                   =\frac{200}{8}

Percentage decrease=25%

How do you work this out?
Ira Lisetskai [31]
I'm guessing you find the length of the hypotenuse using the pythagorean theorem.

a² + b² = c²     a and b are the legs and c is the hypotenuse

15² + 8² = c²

225 + 64 = c²

289 = c²

√289 = √c²

17 = c

hope that helps, God bless!
