People who are victim advocates help victims of crime or abuse to cope the stress and trauma that usually comes up when people fall victims. They usually talk the victim through the processes that are in place in the criminal justice system.
Victim advocates are usually being hired by non-profit organizations, police departments, prosecutor offices, and state or federal legal offices. In some areas, in order to be selected for the role, you need to have a Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience or a master’s degree and good communications skills.
