stellarik [79]

Answer: Energy and matter

Explanation: The earth is considered as an open system with regard to energy, and it is considered as a close system with regard to matter.

The earth as an OPEN SYSTEM for energy, energy radiate into the earth system mainly from the sun and is then radiate back to the space from the earth. This flow is been regulated by the ozone layer and earth atmosphere.

The Earth as a CLOSE SYSTEM is made up of chemical elements, what comes to mind is the periodic table. It is a list of all basic elemental materials on our planet. It is a closed box, because gravity and matter does not leave the system. The laws of thermodynamics tell us that it’s impossible to destroy matter.
