Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Side AC is the side opposite the reference angle of 70 degrees while side BC is the side adjacent to the reference angle. AB is the hypotenuse since it is across from (or opposite) the right angle. The trig ratio that uses the sides opposite from and adjacent to the reference angle is the tangent. Setting up to solve for AC:

tan(70)=\frac{?}{3} and

3tan(70) = ? so

? = 8.24

A muffin recipe, which yields 12 muffins, calls for 2/4 cup of milk for every 1 3/4 cups of flour. The same recipe calls for 1/4
mezya [45]

Answer:

b) 4 3/8

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

12 muffins calls for 1 3/4 cups of flour

using proportion

Find out how much flour will be needed in the mix for a bath of 30 muffins

\frac{12}{1\frac{3}{4}}=\frac{30}{x}\\\\x=30(1\frac{3}{4})/12

Convert mixed number to an improper fraction

1\frac{3}{4}=1+\frac{3}{4}=\frac{7}{4}

substitute

x=30(\frac{7}{4})/12\\\\x=\frac{210}{48}\ cups\ of\ flour

convert to mixed number

\frac{210}{48}=\frac{192}{48}+\frac{18}{48}=4\frac{3}{8}\ cups\ of\ flour

Small boxes contain DVDs, and large boxes contain one gaming machine. Three boxes of gaming machines and a box of DVDs weight 48
miv72 [106K]
DVD weighs 6lbs and game machine weighs 14lbs, so in this case A

in my mind this is what i did...

3(gameMachines) + 5(DVD) = 72lbs
3(gameMachine) + 1 (DVD) = 48lbs

when you subtract, since there is the same number of game machines, they cancel out and your left with
4(DVD) = 24
1 DVD = 6

then just fill in DVD in one of the equations to get the weight of gameMachine
3(gameMachines) + 5(6) = 72lbs
3(gameMachines) = 42
gameMachine = 14
