So, the question’s a bit weird, but I’m going to assume it’s asking for what fraction of her walk she had completed:

Basically you need to divide 3/5 by 4/5

Dividing a fraction is the same as multiplying as the reciprocal of the fraction (the top and bottom get reversed)

Therefore you need to find 3/5 • 5/4

Solving this should get you 15/20, which can be simplified to 3/4.

So the answer is she has completed 3/4 of her walk (75%)

Andrew [12]

Answer:

(x+3)(x+4)(x-4)

x+2 and x-3 are not factors but x-4 is

Step-by-step explanation:

let's factor it :)

x^3 + 3x^2 - 16x -48

first we will factor this:

x^3 + 3x^2

x^2(x + 3)

then factor the second part :

- 16x - 48

-16(x + 3)

so now,

x^2(x + 3) - 16(x + 3)

factor out x+3

(x+3)(x^2 - 16)

factor x^2 - 16

(x+3)(x+4)(x-4)

In the park, Bryce hikes 4 1/2 mi and Jessie hikes 6 7/16 mi. How much farther does Jessie hike than Bryce? Express your answer
soldier1979 [14.2K]

is simply the difference of both amounts, but firstly let's convert the mixed fractions to improper, and subtract.

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{4\frac{1}{2}}\implies \cfrac{4\cdot 2+1}{2}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{9}{2}}
\\\\\\
\stackrel{mixed}{6\frac{7}{16}}\implies \cfrac{6\cdot 16+7}{16}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{103}{16}}
\\\\[-0.35em]
\rule{34em}{0.25pt}\\\\
\stackrel{Jessie}{\cfrac{103}{16}}-\stackrel{Bryce}{\cfrac{9}{2}}\implies \stackrel{\textit{our LCD is 16}}{\cfrac{(1)103-(8)9}{16}}\implies \cfrac{103-72}{16}\implies \cfrac{31}{16}\implies 1\frac{15}{16}
