In 2005 hurricane Katrina led the population to decrease rapidly.After the hurricane the population started rising due to factors like the rebuilding of the city.Many people moved back down and got hired as construction to help rebuild the city and then eventually everything started reopening and people from all over the U.S. started moving back in the city.
