The steamboat makes the trips in 5 hours. The yacht makes the boat in 2.5 hours. The yacht is 20 knots faster than the steamboat

, the trip time multiplied by the speed equals the distance traveled. You know both boats will travel the same distance. How fast is each boat traveling in knots (nautical miles per hour)?

Answer:

Steam boat = 20 Knots , Yacht = 40 Knots

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the distance travelled by both the boats be x

Case 1: Steamboat

Speed S_{s}=\frac{x}{5}

Case 2 : Yacht

S_{y}=\frac{x}{2.5}

S_{y}=\frac{2x}{5}

Also given that speed of yacht is 20 more than that of steamboat

S_{y} -S_{s}=20

Hence

\frac{2x}{5} - \frac{x}{5} = 20

\frac{x}{5} = 20

x = 100

Hence the distance traveled is 100 naut miles

Hence

Speed of Steam boat = \frac{100}{5}  = 20 Knots

Speed of Yacht = \frac{100}{2.50}  = 40 Knots

Question 6. A teacher is picked at random. 3/5 chance they are female. 36 are males. (3 marks) How many teachers are there altog
Sloan [31]
If there is a 60% chance there are female, then that must mean that 40% of the teachers are male.
If 40% of all the teachers is 36, then 20% of all the teachers are 18 in number
So, when we multiply 20% by 5 (to get 100% = all the teachers), we get:
18 x 5 = 90 teachers in total
Hope I helped xx

What are the coordinates of the Image of point M under a Reflection across the y-axis?
dexar [7]

Answer:

(C)

Step-by-step explanation:

Reflection Rule for the Y-Axis:

(x,y) \rightarrow(-x,y)

Using the mapping rule and Point M:

(2,-1) \rightarrow (-2,-1)

\text {M' is: } (-2,-1)

The correct option should be C.

Do I add all the GPAs together and then add all the GPAs above Salley and then subtract them from each other?
solong [7]
No you add them all together and then you divide the number of GPA's to get the mean. You go from greatest to lowest to figure out the median and to find the mode excepts my mind. <span />

"9 less than a number is<br> zero." <br> I need help
zysi [14]

Answer:

9

Step-by-step explanation:

Less means minus, so basically X ( something ) - 9 is 0

X - 9 = 0

You add 9 on each side

X = 0 + 9

X = 9

Basically, all you're doing is the reverse, you start with 0 and do the opposite of taking away 9 which is adding nine so that you get the number:

0 + 9 = 9

Hence the number is 9

:)

( sorry if I misunderstood )
