Answer:

The numbers are 6 and 14

Step-by-step explanation:

Say the unknown numbers are x and y

Say y = 8+x ................... eqn 1

and x + y = 20 ................ eqn 2

Then if you replace y by 8+x, eqn 1 becomes

x + 8 + x = 20

Collect the like terms

x + x = 20 - 8

2x = 12

Divide both sides by 2

x = 12/6

x = 6

Then to get y, substitute 6 for x in eqn 1, and we will have

y = 8 + 6

y = 14

Answer:

First number=6

Second number=14

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the first number be x

So the second number is x+8

So the sum of the two is

X+x+8=20

2x+8=20

2x=20-8

2x=12

X=12/2

=6

The second number will x+8

So 6+8=14

First number=6

Second number=14

Line CD contains points A (4, -7) and B (4, 8). The slope of line CD is
mylen [45]
To find the slope, you divide the difference of the y-coordinates of a point on a line by the difference of the x-coordinates. It is expressed as:

slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2-x1)
slope = 8-(-7) / 4 - 4
slope = 15 / 0
slope = undefined <------ SECOND OPTION

The line should be vertical where the slope is undefined. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.
