To find the inverse of any function, switch the x's with y's and vice versa.

The current equation given is y=4x-8

Switch the y with x and switch the x with y

After doing so, we'll have the following equation:

x=4y-8

Now, let's move the variables around so that y is isolated on the left side again.

Subtract both sides by 4y

x-4y=-8

Subtract both sides by x

-4y=-8-x

Divide both sides by -4

y= \dfrac{x}{4}+2

That is the answer.

Have an awesome day!

Select the correct answer.
BaLLatris [955]

Answer:

80

Step-by-step explanation:

in the figure above, angle 100 degrees is corresponding to the angle co - interior to angle x

that is

if we put an angle that is at the upper left of x, we can call that y which is corresponding to 100 degrees

since y is corresponding to 100 degrees, it automatically becomes the same as 100 degrees

therefore y=100

now, from the first line above, we know that x and y are co-interior which means that they both add up to 180 degrees

that is

x+y=180

we know that y = 100

therefore,

x+100=180

collect like terms and

x = 180-100

therefore,

x= 80

thank you!!

What is the rational number equivalent to 3 point 12 with a bar over 12?
slamgirl [31]
\frac{12}{100}=0.12

To get the 0.12 to repeat, the trick is to subtract 1 from the denominator

\frac{12}{99}=0.12121212...

Then reduce the fraction.

\frac{12}{99}={4}{33}

now add the 3 to get

3.12121212.... = 3\frac{4}{33}

What is the y-intercept of function f?
Andru [333]

Answer:

y intercept = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=5•(1/6)^x

The y intercept is when x =0

Let x =0

f(0)=5•(1/6)^0

= 5* 1     = 5

The y intercept is 5

If the question is

f(x)=5•(1/6)x

although I have never seen the question written this way

The y intercept is when x =0

Let x =0

f(0)=5•(1/6)0

= 5* 0     = 0

The y intercept is 0
