Answer: perpendicular

Step-by-step explanation:

One of the properties of two parallel lines in a plane is:

  • When the parallel lines are both intersected by a third straight line (a transversal) in the same plane, the corresponding angles of intersection with the transversal are congruent.

In this case, the parallel lines are the sidelines and the transversal is the 50 yard line. Since the angle between one of the sidelines and the 50 yard line is 90 degrees (perpendicular), then the angle between the other sideline and the 50 yard line has to be congruent, so it's also perpendicular.

How do I graph f(x)= -cos(x-pi)?
Lorico [155]
Just exactly as you graph any other function: List a bunch of values for 'x', find the value of the function for each one, and start graphing the points, until you have enough points to see the shape of the function, and can draw more of it without more points. When you do that, you'll discover that -cos (x-pi) is equal to cos (x).

The shortest length of fabric, in inches, that Kirk could use to make the tablecloth without putting any separate pieces of fabric together is 30 inches

<h3>How to solve for the shortest length of fabric required to make the table cloth</h3>

<u>Given data</u>

diameter of the table = 3 feet

hang down dimension = 5 inches

sew down dimension = 1 inch

width of rectangular fabric = 60 inches

The question seeks for area of the table cloth, for a circular table area of a circle = pi * r^2

required radius of cloth

= radius of the table + hang down dimension + sew down dimension

= 3 feet / 2 + 5 inches + 1 inch

= 1.5 * 12 inches + 5 inches + 1 inch

= 18 + 5 + 1

= 24 inches

Area of required cloth

= pi * 24^2

= 1809.557 square inches

Area of fabric =  Area of required cloth

length * wide = 1809.557 square inches

length * 60 = 1809.557 square inches

length = 1809.557 / 60 square inches

length = 30.159 inches ≈ 30 inches

Therefore option H which is 30 inches is the answer

PLEASE HELP ASAP<br> solve for x
liq [111]

Answer:

29.44

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we know the both the measure of the angle and the adjacent line of the angle, we can use tan to find x.

tan is (Opposite/Adjacent Line)

\tan(31) = \frac{x}{49} \\ 49 \tan(31) = x \\ 29.44 = x

That is the answer

Answer:

f(-2) = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Look at the graph and find -2 on the x-axis and see what the y-coordinate is on the line where x is -2. When you do this, you can see that where x is -2, y is 2.

So basically it wants the y-value :)
