Answer:

The provement is below

Step-by-step explanation:

z^(1/2)=x^(1/2)+y^(1/2)  =>  (z^(1/2))^2=  (x^(1/2)+y^(1/2))^2

=> z=x+y+2*x^(1/2)*y^(1/2) => z-x-y= 2*x^(1/2)*y^(1/2)

=> (z-x-y)^2= (2*x^(1/2)*y^(1/2) )^2 => (z-x-y)^2=4*x*y           (1)

Pls note that (z-x-y)^2= ((-1)*(-1)*(z-x-y))^2= ((-1)*(x+y-z))^2= (-1)^2*(x+y-z)^2=

=(x+y-z)^2

So  (z-x-y)^2= (x+y-z)^2 !!! Substitute in (1) (z-x-y)^2 by (x+y-z)^2   and will get

the required equality  (x+y-z)^2=4*x*y

What is the value of the discriminant of the quadratic equation −1 = 5x2 −2x, and what does its value mean about the number of r
Zepler [3.9K]
For the equation:
-1=5 x^2 - 2 x
5 x^2 - 2 x + 1 = 0,           then we substitute: a=5,  b=-2,  c =1
to discriminant formula: D= b^2 - 4 a c = (-2)^2 - 4 * 5 * 1 = 4 - 20 = - 16
Answer:
The discriminant is equal to -16 which means the equation has no real number solutions.

Given that f(x) =3x^2 - 6x + 11 ,find the values of a,b and c for which f(x) = a(x - b)^2 + c
V125BC [204]
First you have to complete the square. The first step would be 3x^2-6x=-11. Then you divide -6 by 2 and square the number you get. 3x^2-6x+9=-11+9. 3x^2-6x+9=-2. Factor out the three to get 3(x^2-2x+3)=-2. You can't factor what is in the parenthesis. You should then add two to each side. 3(x^2-2x+3)+2.A = 3B= I don't knowC = 2

(a) Jane pumped 54 gallons of water out of her pool. This was done over a period of 9 minutes at
STALIN [3.7K]
Answer: -6
Step-by-step explanation:
From the question, Elsa pumped 18 gallons of water out of her pool and this was done over a period of 3 minutes at a constant rate. Since it is done at a content rate, to get the change in the amount of water in the pool each minute, we divide 18 gallons by 3. This can be written mathematically as:
= 18 gallons ÷ 3
= 6 gallons
Change = -6
The change in the amount of water in the pool each minute will be -6gallons hope this helps
