Question

24+3x=3x+3(7-1) What does x equal? Please show me how to do it I don't want the answer. (Well I do but show me how to get it also pleaz) Lease help this is due tomorrow!

                                              24 + 3x = 3x + 3(7 - 1)

Eliminate the parentheses:    24 + 3x = 3x + 3(6)

                                              24 + 3x = 3x + 18

Subtract  3x  from each side:       24  =  18

Look at that for a second.  Can ANY value of 'x' make 24 equal to 18 ?
I don't think so.
There's NO number that makes the equation a true statement.

That's just another way to say: "The equation has NO solution."
