Answer:

55

Step-by-step explanation:

3x - 60 = x + 50

3x = x + 50 + 60

3x = x + 110

3x - x = 110

2x = 110

110 / 2 = 55

Answer:

i think your answer would be C. x = 55

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute x for 55

3(55) - 60 = 105

(55) + 50 = 105

i hope this is right

A system of linear equations is graphed. which ordered pair is the best estimate for the solution to the system?
OLga [1]

Answer:

The answer that gives the best estimate is (1,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

i) As can be seen on of the lines intercepts the y axis at (0,-1). So the y

 intercept or c_{1} = -1. Therefore the equation for this line can be written as

 y = m_{1} x + c_{1}    ⇒    y = m_{1} x - 1 . It can also be seen from this graph that the

 line passes through the point (2 , 2). Substituting these values for x and y

 respectively we get  2 = 2m_{1} - 1    ∴ m_{1} = \frac{3}{2}.  The equation of the first line

 can be written as y = \frac{3}{2} x - 1   ⇒ 2y - 3x = -2

ii) As can be seen on the other line the intercept on the y axis is at (0,2). So

  the y  intercept or c_{2} = 2. Therefore the equation for this line can be

  written  as  y = m_{2}x + c_{2}    ⇒    y = m_{2} x + 2 . It can also be seen from this

   graph that  the  line passes through the point (1 , -1). Substituting these

   values for x and  y   respectively we get  1 = 1m_{2} + 2    ∴ m_{2}  = -1 .  The

   equation of the second line  can be written as y = - x + 2   or x + y = 2

iii) Solving the two equations of the two lines respectively as found in i) and

  ii)  we get y = 0.8. We multiply equation in ii) by 3 to get 3x + 3y = 6 and

  when we add this to equation in i) we get 5y = 4 which means that y = 0.8.

  If we substitute this value in ii) we get 0.8 + x = 2 , therefore x = 1.2.

iv) Therefore we get the solution of the two lines, which is the intersection

    of the two lines as (1.2, 0.8). So the answer that gives the best estimate

    is (1,1)

Item 2 An account earns simple interest. $1500 at 4% for 5 years a. Find the interest earned. b. Find the balance of the account
Verdich [7]
The account is starting off with 1500, so that will be the start value. Since it is simple interest, it will always be gaining 4 percent of 1500. Let's find 4 percent of 1500.
1500×.04= 60
The account will be growing by $60 every year.
1500+60x=y
X is the number of years. We can find the interest earned by multiplying 5, since that is the number of years we are trying to find, and 60, since that is the interest.
60×5= 300
The interest earned is $300 over 5 years.
Now let's find the balance of the account after 5 years.
1500+ 60(5)=y
1500+300=y
1800=y
The balance of the account will be $1,800 after 5 years.

A square has a perimeter of 8 cm. What is its area?
serious [3.7K]
A square has four sides which all have the same length.

So if we call the length of each side of the square 'a'

The sum of length of all the sides (the perimeter) will be ,

a + a + a + a = 4a

Now let's equal this to the perimeter to find the length of each side 'a'

4a\quad =\quad 8\\ \\ a\quad =\quad \frac { 8 }{ 4 } \\ \\ a\quad =\quad 2

So the length of each side of the square is 2 cm

To find area of a square we multiply the length of its two sides

So,

a\cdot a is the area of the square,

a\cdot a=\quad 2\cdot 2\quad =\quad 4\\ \\ 4\quad c{ m }^{ 2 }

The answer :

\boxed { 4\quad c{ m }^{ 2 } }

D.) is 13/5 it got cut off<br> HELP NEEDED<br> [10 points up!]
vodomira [7]

It would be A. You can find this out by using SOH CAH TOA,

SOH means sin= opposite/hypotenuse

CAH mean cos= adjacent/hypotenuse

TOA means tangent= opposite/adjacent

You would use CAH since you are trying to find cos∠C

You would have cos∠C=10/26.

26 is the hypotenuse since it is opposite the right angle and is the biggest side.

10 is the adjacent since it is right next to C

You would simplify this down to 5/13 by dividing by 2.

This gives you A.
