What is a 4:1 ratio? Is it equivalent to 75% to 25%?
Ludmilka [50]
Ratios are basically:

for this much of this:theres this much of that

lets say you have 4:1 in spoons and forks.

for every 4 spoons, there is 1 fork. if there is 8 spoons there are 2 forks and so on.
The percent is 400%

if you meant 1:4 the percent would be 25%. all other rules apply.
for every 1 spoon you have 4 forks.

Evaluate the expression for x2 +y2 for x =-5 and y = -2
MrMuchimi
If that’s supposed to be x squared and y squared then it would be: -5^2 + -2^2=29

If it’s x and y multiplied by 2 then the answer would be (-5 x 2) + (-2 x 2) = -14.

Vicki would like to estimate the probability of tails coming up fewer than 2 times in 3 coin flips.
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

0.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Vicki has a computer randomly select 0 or 1 three times, with 0 representing heads and 1 representing tails. The results of 15 trials are shown in the table.

110 111 000 011 000

010 101 100 000 000

111 101 110 101 111

Vicki would like to estimate the probability of tails (1) coming up fewer than 2 times (must be 0 or 1 digit 1 in record). All such seuences are marked in bold int the above table. There are 6 such trails. Hence, Vicki's estimated probability, based on this simulation is

\dfrac{6}{15}=\dfrac{2}{5}=0.4
