Answer:

When Stalin speaks about Russia, or it’s armed forces, he is trying to produce positive emotion by promoting pride and nationalism. When he talks about Germany or Fascism, on the other hand, he is trying to produce fear and hatred. These two pathos appeals work together by creating a division between the states of Russia and Germany. The division is also between Russia and everyone else. This us and them mentality nurtures a strong bond between the Russian people and distrust towards “others.”
