Let's write it out properly:

x^3 (x + 3)(x - 1)(x - 1)

As there are 4 'x' in the equation, there should be 4 solutions

So there should be 4 roots

However, 2 of those roots are the same

Thus, technically there are 3 roots

Answer:

The answer is none.

Step-by-step explanation:

Because

Side of the square is greater than breadth of rectangle.

Answer: How can this be possible? Side of any square cannot be more than breadth of rectangle unless and until the square is bigger than the rectangle.

Side of the square can be greater than length of triangle:

Answer: Not at all possible. How can the length of a square be greater than the length of a rectangle? then the square would no longer have the same sides. And as i said before, squares cant be long unless and until they are bigger than the rectangle.

Hope this helps....

Solve the following equation using the quadratic formula.
konstantin123 [22]

Answer:

x = 4 ±9i

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2 - 8x + 97 = 0

Complete the square by subtracting 97 from each side

x^2 - 8x =- 97

Take the coefficient of x

-8 and divide by 2

-8/2 = -4

Then square it

(-4)^2 = 16

Add it to each side

x^2 - 8x + 16 = -97+16

(x-4)^2 = -81

Take the square root of each side

x-4 = ±sqrt(-81)

x-4 = ±9i

Add 4 to each side

x = 4 ±9i

Beth is 2 years older than Jimmy, and in 3 years the sum of their ages will be twice as much as the sum of their ages 3 years ag
krok68 [10]
Jimmy - j years now
Beth -(j+2) years now

In 3 years
Jimmy - (j+3)
Beth -(j+2+3)=(j+5)

j+3 + j+5=(2j+8) - sum of their ages in 3 years

y years ago
Jimmy - (j-3)
Beth - (j+2-3)= (j-1)

j-3+j-1=(2j - 4) - sum of their ages in 3 years ago

(2j+8) =2(2j - 4)
2j+8 = 4j-8
2j = 16
j = 8

Jimmy - 8 years now
Beth - 8+2=10 years now
