Ok, so to solve this, you have to have the equations in standard form, which is:

y=mx+b

where m is the slope of the line

So, for the first equation, the slope is 4

For the second equation, you have to rearrange it so it's in standard form.

-15x+3y=-45

Begin to isolate y by performing the opposite operation of adding 15x on both sides of the equation

The 15x will cross out on the left

-15x + 15x = 0x = 0

The result on the right will be 15x - 45

3y = 15x - 45

To completely isolate y, perform the opposite operation by dividing 3 on both sides of the equation by 3.

When you do that, divide each term by 3

The 3's on the left will cross out

3y ÷ 3 = 1y = y

15x ÷ 3 = 5x

-45 ÷ 3 = -15

y = 5x-15

So, the slope of the line is 5

Which pair of expressions is equivalent using the Associative Property of Multiplication?
bixtya [17]
With the associative property, it does not matter which order you multiply numbers in. The answer to 4*5 is the same answer as 5*4. This works with more than two numbers as well. The associative property of addition also works this way.

In this question, it is important to watch where the parentheses are placed.

ANSWER: C) 4(2a * 5) = (2a * 5) * 4. Multiplying 4 to the left or the right of the set of parentheses will result in the same answer.

Hope this helps! :)
