How does the frogs vestigial thumb help survival?

Biology

Frogs have their way of avoiding the predators like camouflage, squirting the poisonous liquid out of their system and through their vestigial thumbs. This organ helps them by avoiding predation by stealth which makes them quiet and silent in moving so that predators won't notice them readily.

_________ bind to specific antigens on pathogens causing them to clump together. a. antibodies b. histamine c. t-lymphocytes d.
Hunter-Best [27]

The substance that bind to specific antigens on pathogens causing them to clump together is option A which is antibodies and this is to fight against the pathogens and render them inactive in the human bodies

What is antibodies?

Antibodies are proteins or substances that is secreted by organs in the body or hormones which help to fight against foreign substances that invades the body or fight against pathogens that might want to cause diseases or inflammation in the body.

Therefore, The substance that bind to specific antigens on pathogens causing them to clump together is option A which is antibodies and this is to fight against the pathogens and render them inactive in the human bodies

Students ere investigating of a toy car. They performed 2 trials . Trial 1 / time(s) 5 , distance(m) 10, Trial 2 / Time(s) 20 di
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer: The average speed of the toy car during the two trials is 2m/s.

Explanation:

Speed can be defined as a type of scalar quantity in physics through which the rate at which an object travels through a distance is measured in a given amount of time. The formula for determining the speed of a car is:

Speed= distance/ time which has an SI unit of m/s.

From the speed tests carried out on a toy car, the speed of trial 1 is:

Distance= 10 meters

Time= 5 seconds

Therefore trial one speed is 10/5= 2m/s

While the speed of trial 2 is:

Distance= 40meters

Time= 20 seconds

Therefore trial 2 speed is 40/ 20= 2mls

Average speed of the toy car during the two trials is: Sum of both both speeds divided by total number of trials.

Therefore: 2 m/s + 2m/s / 2= 2m/s

From the calculation, the average speed of the toy car during the two trials is 2m/s.

An experimenter has altered the 3' end of the tRNA corresponding to the amino acid methionine in such a way as to remove the 3'
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

C) The amino acid methionine will not bind.

Explanation:

The tRNA has a nucleotide sequence that varies in length from 73 to 93 nucleotides. The 3' end of the tRNA serves as an amino acid arm. All the tRNA molecules have the trinucleotide sequence CCA at the 3' end. The base "A" is present at the 3' end. The amino acid arm serves to carry a specific amino acid according to the anticodon sequence present in its anticodon arm.

The amino acid is esterified by its carboxyl group to the 2'- or 3'-hydroxyl group of the adenine residue that is present at the 3' end of the tRNA. Therefore, the removal of 3' AC would not allow the tRNA to bind to its corresponding amino acid (here, methionine).

Answer:

 17. 7.61×10³ N

 18. 9.51 m/s²

 19. maybe you want 29.375 N

Explanation:

17. Use the given formula for force. Fill in the masses and radius. The distance from the earth is in addition to the radius of the earth.

 F=G\dfrac{m_1m_2}{r^2}\\\\F=(6.67\times10^{-11})\dfrac{5.97\times10^{24}\cdot 800}{((6.37+0.10)\times10^6)^2}=\dfrac{6.67\cdot5.97\cdot8.00}{6.47^2}\times10^3\\\\F=7.61\times10^3\qquad\text{newtons}

__

18. Make use of the relation ...

 F = ma

 a = F/m = (7.61×10³ N)/(800 kg)

 a ≈ 9.51 m/s²

__

19. The acceleration of the runner is ...

 a = ∆v/∆t = (9 m/s - 4 m/s)/(8 s) = (5/8) m/s²

The force she is applying to the ground to accelerate herself is ...

 F = ma = (47 kg)(5/8 m/s²) = 29.375 N

The amount of force applied to the tape depends on its mass and the effect the tape has on the runner's acceleration. There is insufficient information in the problem statement to permit an answer to the question.
