A=P(1+ \frac{r}{n})^{tn}
A=future amount
P=present amount
r=rate in decimal
n=number of times per year compounded
t=time in years

given
P=455
r=4%=0.04
n=1
t=2

A=455(1+ \frac{0.04}{1})^{(2)(1)}
A=455(1+ 0.04)^{2}
A=455(1.04)^{2}
A=492.128
round
$492.13

The answer is $492.13
Multiply 455 x .04
Then, add that answer(18.2) to 455
Then, use that sum(473.2) and multiply it by .04
Then, add that(18.928) to to your first answer(473.2) for the final answer which is 492.128 which is rounded to $492.13

How can I use a scale to help me find the actual perimeter of an object if I already know the perimeter of the scale drawing?
ankoles [38]

Answer:

Lets say you have a scale of 2 actual feet is equal to 1 graph inch. And lets say you have a perimeter of 24 inches. You know that for every inch I have graphed, it's an actual 2 feet. So if you multiply those 24 inches by 2, then you will get 48. And you need to change the units to match the description, so I will need to change inches to feet. This will get me 48 feet of perimeter in real life.

Here this is the new one.
Helga [31]

Formula #1: 0.15x + 22

Formula #2: 0.19x

0.15x + 22 = 0.19x

15x+2200=19x\\15x=19x-2200\\-4x=-2200\\\frac{-4x}{-4}=\frac{-2200}{-4}\\X = 550

So x = 550.

I hope this helps! :)

professor190 [17]

Answer:

There is a 90.32% probability that the cake was baked by Doug.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have these following probabilities:

A 70% probability that Doug bakes the cake.

A 30% probability that Jeremy bakes the cake.

A 40% probability that a cake baked by Doug gets a thumbs up.

A 10% that a cake baked by Jeremy gets a thumbs up.

One cake was selected at random on 10/01/2014 and got a "thumbs up".

1. Find the probability that the cake was baked by Doug.

The probability that a baked cake gets a thumbs up is:

P = 0.7*0.4 + 0.3*0.10 = 0.31

Of those, 0.7*0.4 = 0.28 are baked by Doug.

So the probability is:

P = \frac{0.28}{0.31} = 0.9032

There is a 90.32% probability that the cake was baked by Doug.
