  • All the  benefits that are supplied to mankind by the natural ecosystems  and and through their resources and processes are called as ecosystem services.

These services can be classified into 4 broad categories:

1. <em>Provisioning</em> <em>services</em>- these include <em>food production</em>, water , energy,medicines etc.

2. <em>Regulating services-</em> these help regulate  the climate, <em>stores</em> <em>carbon</em>, decomposes waste, pollination, <em>pest control</em> and disease control.

3. Supporting services- these include nutrient cycling, dispersal of seeds and primary prduction.

4. Cultural services- scientific discoveries, ecotourism, recreational experience etc.

Well this has to be your opinion :) but I will tell you autotrophs are organisms that can make their own food, so plants. Heterotrops are organisms that have to get their energy from another source, animals. So would you rather be a plant or animal (like you already are) and why?
