The answer is '<span>B)The writer can then write about a narrow topic important to him or her.'. Because, if you were the audience, wouldn't you be more interested if the speaker wrote about something interesting to you? :)

If the audience can't understand what's written then the entire piece of writing is moot. In this instance it doesn't matter so much about what /you/ feel, but rather if you can even write in a way that they'll understand.</span>

This is actually a pretty simple sentence, the only thing you have to be careful about is not confusing the genitive <em>'s  </em> for a contracted form of <em>IS</em>
