The basic unit of a living organism is a cell. Cells with the same function and structure comprises to makes up a tissue. A group of tissues combined with similar structure and forms makes up an organ. A group of organs with relative function makes up a system. Lastly, a group of system with relative functions make up an organism. To simplify:

If a heterozygous dominant tall pea plant is crossed with a short pea plant, what is the expected phenotypic ratio of tall: shor
Maru [420]

Answer:

2 (tall) :2 (short) or 1:1.

Explanation:

Mendel is known as the father of genetics. He explains the laws of segregation and the laws of independent assortment by working on the pea plant <em>Pisum sativum.</em>

The height of tall pea plant be T and the short pea plant be t. The cross between heterozygous dominant tall pea plant (Tt ) and short pea plant (tt) is as follows:

Parents           Tt         ×          tt

The progeny obtained from the cross are Tt, tt, Tt and tt.

Two tall pea plants and two short pea plants.

Thus, the phenotype ratio is 1:1.
