If it is perpendicular to the line 14x-7y=4, then we know our line has the opposite and inverse slope of that line. Solving for y of the first line, we get y=2x-(4/7). All we care about is the coefficient of the x term, because that will give us our slope. The slope of the first line is 2, so the slope of out line is the opposite and inverse of that slope, which -(1/2).

Plugging into our slope- point formula, where y1=(-9), x1=2, and m=(-1/2), then:

y-(-9)=(-1/2)(x-2)

y+9=(-1/2)x+1

y=(-1/2)x-8

Harry selects jellybeans out of a jar and records the number of times he picks a pink jellybean. Number
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability of an event is given as

P(an event) = no of time event occur / total sample space of event.

Let the total outcome be n,

Then, first situation...

If harry select 12 times, it probability is 12/n.

Second situation

Harry select 8 time, it probability is 8/n

Third situation,

Harry select 4 times, it probably is 4 / n.

Fourth situation

Harry selects 16 time, it probability is 16/n

Then, arranging from the order of highest frequency

Then,

16 / n, 12 / n, 8 / n and 4 / n

For an experiment, the temperature of a liquid must stay above 60°F . The starting temperature of the liquid is 90°F . It is pla
HACTEHA [7]
The answer is The liquid must be in the cooler fewer than 10 minutes.

Let:
m - the number of minutes the liquid is in the cooler.
a - the starting temperature
The function is:
f(m) = a - 3 * m     (Since the temperature decreases by 3°F each minute m, it has a negative sign)
Let:
m - the number of minutes the liquid is in the cooler.
a - the starting temperature
a = 90°F

The temperature of a liquid must stay above 60°F:
f(m) > 60

Thus:
f(m) = a - 3 * m
f(m) > 60

a - 3 * m > 60
90 - 3m > 60
90 - 60 > 3m
30 > 3 m
30/3 > m
10 > m
Or m < 10. So the correct answer is The liquid must be in the cooler fewer than 10 minutes.

Find the area of an octagon with a radius of 11 units. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. NO LINKS
xeze [42]

Answer:

342.24 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of one of the 8 triangular sections of the octagon is ...

A = (1/2)r²·sin(θ) . . . . . where θ is the central angle of the section

The area of the octagon is 8 times that, so is ...

A = 8·(1/2)·11²·sin(360°/8) = 242√2

A ≈ 342.24 units²
