Ok assuming that he has 1 larger orange that weighs 3 and 1/2 pound
3 and 1/2=2/2+2/2+2/2+1/2=7/2
divide into  7 (george+6 feriends) parts means multiply by 1/7
7/2 divided into 6 parts=7/2 times 1/4=7/14=1/2
each person gets 1/2 lb orange

if each person leaves 1 and 1/2 oz how much was not eaten

each orange=1/2 lb=1/2 times 16=8oz
total=8oz
eaten=?
left=1 and 1/2oz
8=?+1 and 1/2
subtraft 1 and 1/2
6 and 1/2=?

6 and 1/2 oz was eaten (1 and 1/2 oz was not eaten)

ok

each person eats 1/2 lb oranges
each person eats  6 and 1/2 oz (leaves behind 1 and 1/2 oz)

The average number of accidents is 3 per month, what is the probability of 1 accident?
tatuchka [14]
<h2>Hello!</h2>

The answer is: 33.33%

<h2>Why?</h2>

Since we have the average number of accidents that occurs in 1 month, and it's equal to 3, we can calculate the probability of 1 accident occurs by dividing it into the average number of accidents, using the following formula:

Probability=\frac{FavorableOutcomes}{Outcomes}*100

Where,

Favorable outcomes are the occurrence of the event, for this case, it's equal to 1.

Outcomes are the possible occurrence of the event, for this case, it's equal to 3.

So, by substituting we have:

Probability=\frac{1}{3}*100

Probability=0.3333*100=33.33

So, the probability will be equal to 33.33%

Have a nice day!

Masteriza [31]
<span>A rectangular soccer field is twice as long as it is wide. If the perimeter of the soccer field is 300 yards , what are its dimensions?
I know the basic formula is 2W+2L=300 but i am not sure where to go from there...
-----
Equations:
2W + 2L = 300
L = 2W
----
Substitute for "L" and solve for "W":
</span><span>2W + 2(2W) = 300
6W = 300
W = 50 yds (width)
----
Solve for "L":
L = 2W
L = 100 yds (length)
========================
Cheers.
