Hi there!

The United States has a bicameral Congress because it is a compromise between the smaller and larger states. The larger states wanted the congress to be based on population, and the smaller states wanted it based on equality.

FOUR DIFFERENCES:
1. House of Representatives is based on population, while the Senate is based on equality
2. Representatives serve for 6-year terms in the Senate, while they can only serve 2-year terms in the House of Representatives
3. You must be at least 30 years old to serve in the Senate, while the minimum age is 25 in the House of Representatives
4. In order to be a part of the Senate, you must be a citizen for at least 14 years. In order to be a part of the House or Representatives, you must be a citizen for at least 7 years.

Hope this helps!! :)

Which Greek city state alienated other city states by taking money for the common defense and spending it on themselves?
Nataly [62]

Answer:

Athens

Explanation:

The Greek city-state that alienated other city-states by taking money for the common defense and spending it on themselves is ATHENS

Following the formation of a Delian League involving about 330 members forming an association of Greek City-States in 478 BC, whose main objective is to continue to fight the Persian Empire.

However, instead of using the money judiciously, Athens alienated other city-states by taking money for the common defense and spending it on themselves. This eventually led to the Peloponnesian War in 431 BC and ultimately the league was dissolved in 404 BC, following the end of the Peloponnesian War.

What are reasons for American imperialism?
Mariana [72]

Economic factors.  The US wanted to take an empire to give it new markets in which to sell goods and from which to buy raw materials.

Military factors.  This was the time of Alfred Thayer Mahan’s ideas about the dominant role of naval power.  The US felt that taking an empire would give it more naval bases from which to project power.  This would allow the  US to become a more important power.

Cultural factors.  Many Americans believed in the idea of the “white man’s burden.”  They felt that they needed to go out and help to civilize the rest of the world.
