box your variable then under the 6 put +6 and cancel it out.

now what is the opposite of division? Multiplication. so times x/2 by 2 and then put (2) next to the 10. You are going to get 20 which is what x is.

6 - \frac{x}{2}= 10  Subtract 6 on both sides

6-\frac{x}{2}-6=10-6

-\frac{x}{2}= 4

Multiply -2 on both sides to get "x" by itself

-\frac{x}{2} (-2) = 4(-2)


x = -8
