Answer: 0.30

Step-by-step explanation:

Let T denotes tater tots and F denotes French fries .

As per given ,

The proportion of students said they liked tater tots : P(T)= 0.30

The proportion of of students said they like French fries : P(F)= 0.15

Since , every one of the students who said they like French fries also said they like tater tots.

i.e. P(T∩F) = 0.15

Now , using addition formula , we have

P(T∪F)= P(T)+P(F)-P(T∩F)

= 0.30+0.15-0.15=0.30

Hence, the proportion of the students responding to the survey said they liked at least one of the two side dishes is 0.30.

Based on the given problem above, the proportion of the students responding to the survey that said that they liked at least one of the two side dishes is 3/10. Because 30% said they like tater tots and all the ones who said they liked fries are the same people then you're only looking at the 30% wherein 30/100 is 3/10 which makes 3/10 the right answer.

Prove that sin20sin40sin60sin80=3/16
never [62]
We'll use the following properties of sine and cosine to prove this:

sin(a)\cdot sin(b) = \frac12(cos(a-b) - cos(a+b))

cos(a)\cdot cos(b) = \frac12(cos(a+b) + cos(a-b))

cos(180+a) = cos(180-a)

Then it's just a matter of filling it in...

sin20sin40 * sin60sin80 = 1/2(cos20 - cos60) * 1/2 (cos20 - cos140) =

1/8( cos40 + 1 - cos160 - cos120 - cos40 - cos80 + cos80 + cos200) =

1/8(1 - cos160 - cos120 + cos200) =

1/8(1 - cos160 - cos120 + cos160) =

1/8(1 - cos120 ) = 1/8( 1 + 1/2 ) = 3/16
