Answer:363

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to find partial sum for the sequence 243 , 81 , 27 ..... up to 5 terms(S5 given)

The sequence actually is 3^5,3^4.,3^3.....

Therefore first 5 terms are 1) 3^5 I.e. 243

2) 3^4 I.e. 81

3) 3^3 I.e. 27

4)) 3^2 I.e. 9

5) 3^1 I.e. 3

Adding all those no. we get partial sum of first 5 no. of the sequence

So, 243 + 81 + 27 + 9 + 3

= 363

Hope it helps!!!

(URGENT) Gertrude and Russell are traveling on their motor scooters in the same direction along the same road. Gertrude is trave
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

It will take <em>0.75 hours </em>to Russell catch Gertrude

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Cinematics</u>

The equations of cinematics include velocity, displacement and time. In case only the magnitudes are important, we can use the concepts of speed and distance. The speed can be thought in relative terms, i.e. if one body moves at 10 m/s and other moves at 8 m/s, we can say the relative speed is 2 m/s.

The equation who relates those magnitudes is

x=vt

The problem states Gertrude travels at 10 mph and is 3 miles ahead of Russell who travels at 14 mph. We want to know the time when Russell will catch Gertrude. Since Russell goes faster than Gertrude, he eventually catches her. In a time t, he must travel 3 miles more than her. Since the relative speed of them is 14-10= 4 mph, we can know the time it takes to the encounter to produce

\displaystyle t=\frac{x}{v}

\displaystyle t=\frac{3}{4}=0.75\ hours

Answer: It will take 0.75 hours to Russell catch Gertrude

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST
IrinaK [193]

Part one:

x^2-8x=-26

Rewrite in the form (x+a)^{2} =b

\left(x-4\right)^2=-10

\mathrm{For\:}f^2\left(x\right)=a\mathrm{\:the\:solutions\:are\:}f\left(x\right)=\sqrt{a},\:-\sqrt{a}

Solve x-4=\sqrt{-10} : x=\sqrt{10} i+4

Solve x-4=\sqrt{-10} : x=-\sqrt{10} i+4

x=\sqrt{10}i+4,\:x=-\sqrt{10}i+4

Part two:

x=\frac{-\left(-8\right)\pm \sqrt{\left(-8\right)^2-4\cdot \:1\cdot \:26}}{2\cdot \:1}

Simplify \sqrt{\left(-8\right)^2-4\cdot \:1\cdot \:26}}: 2\sqrt{10} i

=\frac{-\left(-8\right)\pm \:2\sqrt{10}i}{2\cdot \:1}

Separate solutions

x_1=\frac{-\left(-8\right)+2\sqrt{10}i}{2\cdot \:1},\:x_2=\frac{-\left(-8\right)-2\sqrt{10}i}{2\cdot \:1}

\frac{-(-8)+2\sqrt{10}i }{2*1} :4+\sqrt{10}i

\frac{-(-8)+2\sqrt{10}i }{2*1} :4-\sqrt{10}i

x=4+\sqrt{10}i,\:x=4-\sqrt{10}i

Colton has math and reading homework tonight. Colton can solve each math problem in 3 minutes and he can read each page in 1.5 m
levacccp [35]

Answer:

Colton solved 9 math problems and read 18 pages.

Step-by-step explanation:

9*2=18

9 problems * 3 minutes per problem= 27 minutes

18 pages * 1.5 minutes per page= 27 minutes

27 + 27=54

The best way to solve is by trial and error and just testing out different numbers to see if they will work.
