= 18 * 4^{2} + 6^{2}          brackets first

= 18 * 16 + 36      next exponents

= 288 + 36           then multiplication

= 324                   finally addition

Lisa was right, she used BEDMAS properly while Rob treated the (9 - 3)^{2} as (9^{2} - 3^{2}). This made it 18 * 16 + (81 - 9) = 288 + 72 = 360.

What is the side length of the largest square that can fit into a circle with a radius of 5 units?
Mariana [72]
So 1st consider that it's a square! That's very important. So for a square, all 4 sides are equal.

And now considering that the given information is the diameter. So any angle made at the circle extended from the 2 points of diameter gives an angle of 90°

Now consider one triangle. So we already know that 2 sides of the triangle are equal (because they are 2 sides of a square) , has a side of 10 (diameter) and and angle of 90°. So remaining 2 angles are 45°

Now solve it by applying

\sin(45) \: \: \: \: = x \div 10 \\ (1 \div \sqrt{2} ) = (x \div 10) \\ 10 \div \sqrt{2} \: = x

If g(x)=4x-6 then g^-1(x)=?<br> (1) -4x+6<br> (2)-1/4x+1/6<br> (3)1/4x+3/2<br> (4)1/4x+6
kati45 [8]

Given:

g(x)=4x-6

To find:

The function g^{-1}(x).

Solution:

we have,

g(x)=4x-6

Put g(x)=y.

y=4x-6

Interchange x and y.

x=4y-6

Isolate y.

x+6=4y

\dfrac{x+6}{4}=y

y=\dfrac{x+6}{4}

Substitute y=g^{-1}(x).

g^{-1}(x)=\dfrac{x+6}{4}

g^{-1}(x)=\dfrac{x}{4}+\dfrac{6}{4}

g^{-1}(x)=\dfrac{x}{4}+\dfrac{3}{2}

Therefore, the correct option is (3).

Tell whether the angles are adjacent or vertical. Then find the value of x.
krok68 [10]

Answer : The angles are vertical angles and the value of x is 25^o

Step-by-step explanation :

Adjacent angles : It is defined as the two angles that have the common arm and common vertex.

Vertical angles : It is defined as the two lines intersect each other and form angles. The opposite angles are known as vertically opposite angles.

And we know that the vertically opposite angles are equal.

In the given image, the angles are vertical angles and vertically opposite angles are equal.

So,

(4x-25)^o=75^o

4x-25^o=75^o

4x=75^o+25^o

4x=100^o

x=\frac{100^o}{4}

x=25^o

Therefore, the angles are vertical angles and the value of x is 25^o
