Associative property: When the numbers inside of the parenthesis change with the outside in order to change the expression.
Distributive: When the number on the outside of the parenthesis are distributed with the numbers on the inside of the parenthesis.
Commutative: Numbers that are switched around randomly to change the expression.
Additive inverse: It is like zero pairs, when a positive number is made neutral by adding the same number but negative. Or a positive to a negative. Ex: 23+-23=0.

The 1992 world speed record for a bicycle (human-powered vehicle) was set by Chris Huber. His time through the measured 200 m st
Reil [10]

Answer:

a) 30.726m/s and b) 5.5549s

Step-by-step explanation:

a.) What was Chris Huber’s speed in meters per second(m/s)?

Given the distance and time, the formula to obtain the speed is

v=\frac{d}{t}.

Applying this to our problem we have that

v=\frac{200m}{6.509s}= 30.726m/s.

So, Chris Huber’s speed in meters per second(m/s) was 30.726m/s.

b) What was Whittingham’s time through the 200 m?

In a) we stated that v=\frac{d}{t}. This formula implies that

  1. t=\frac{d}{v}.

First, observer that 19\frac{km}{h} =19,000\frac{m}{h}=\frac{19,000}{3,600}m/s= 5.2777m/s.

Then, Sam Whittingham speed was equal to Chris Huber’s speed plus 5.2777 m/s. So, v=30.726\frac{m}{s} +5.2777\frac{m}{s}= 36.003 m/s.

Then, applying 1) we have that

t=\frac{200m}{36.003m/s}=5.5549s.

So, Sam Whittingham’s time through the 200 m was 5.5549s.

Find the surface area of the pyramid. The side lengths of the base are equal. Square pyramid with base edge of 12 centimeters, a
sdas [7]

Answer:

the surface area of the square pyramid is 576.66 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the surface area of square pyramid is given below:

A = a^2  + 2a × √a^2 ÷ √4 + √h^2

where

a = 12 cm

h = 17 cm

Now put the value of a and h in the above formula

= 12^2 + 2(12) × √12^2 ÷ √4 + √17^2

= 576.66 cm^2

hence, the surface area of the square pyramid is 576.66 cm^2

Which of the following will generate a graph that is 3 units to the left of y = x3?
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

(3) y=(x+3)

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm not sure what is the parent function, but in most graphs if you will shift it to the left or right (negative sign or positive sign, respectively), it will be inside a parenthesis and the opposite sign is the real movement.

For a cubic function these will be the movements:

f(x)=(x+/-h)^3+/-k

Only the opposite sign of h will be the real movement, while k's sign will automatically indicate the correct movement.

h= x-axis movement (horizontal, inside of the parenthesis in the equation)

k= y-axis movement (vertical, outside of the parenthesis in the equation)

Hope it helps
