The main reason why some Southwest Asian countries have become wealthy in the last 100 years, while their neighboring countries have not is because of two very important resources: oil and water.

Oil and natural gas has made several countries in the Middle East very rich. Although it may be confusing, the Middle East is also considered to be part of Southwest Asia. Since so many countries have a demand for these resources, countries like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, and Iran have made a lot of money from selling these resources to other countries around the world.

Countries that do not sell a lot of oil are also poor because of the lack of water in their countries, as well. Irrigation is necessary for crops and livestock. The lack of water in the area makes it hard for farmers to produce enough crops to make an adequate living or feed their population. Farmers also have used chemicals and fertilizers that contaminate the little water they have. Access to water has caused a lot of fighting in this area, as well.

Which branch of government do you think has the most control in the government and why?
klasskru [66]

In my opinion the branch of government that has the most control over the government would be the "legislative branch." The legislative branch is the branch that creates laws that everyone in the country has to follow in order to stay out of legal trouble which makes it very powerful because it can change your everyday life if the bill becomes a law.

Hope this helps.

An decrease in interest rates generated by the FED buying bonds will, ceteris paribus, ___________ bond prices..
Bumek [7]

Answer:

An decrease in interest rates generated by the FED buying bonds will, ceteris paribus, _increase __________ bond prices..

Explanation:

There is inverse relation between bond price and interest rate .

Bond price , sums up the present cash value of cash flow of bond. The  cash flow is discounted by the prevailing interest rate . If it goes down , the NPV of cash flow increases . Hence the bond price increases.

Second theory is that , when prevailing interest rate decreases , demand of bond on which interest rate is fixed goes up . Hence its price increases.
