Health

Answer:

Dropping out of school impacts the well-being of individuals and their communities because the student wanted to drop out of school for a reason, to pursue a job, a dream, etc. what they WANT to do. If they want to do that they will keep trying and not trying as much on schoolwork, so they are wasting the teacher's time because they want to drop out of school anyway. It impacts the individuals well being because it makes them happier and they can avoid the peer pressure at school to be one thing and have no difference, once they get out of the environment they can truly start growing and pursuing a life. It impacts the community because it gains one more helping hand in the world that isn't stuck at school and that someone else who really wants to go to school can take there place and there aren't too many kids.

I hope this makes sense :)

Lelu [443]
Yes two components of your environment that can affect your wellness are peer influence and role models. This is true because for example at school one's peers may all be into smoking and so in order to hang out with them and be 'cool' smoking may be adopted and this can cause lung cancer. With education on the link between lung cancer and smoking then now this is probably much less true. If a role model is like a father who is hard working and responsible and knows the difference between right and wrong, then the son or daughter will most likely follow suit and lead a healthy life but if the father say is an alcoholic and not resolving problems then the children will most likely do the same.

Nine chances out of ten, it's wrong means that 90% of the time, the place the person is, or wants to go is a wrong judgment that only has 10% chance of being a good option. This means that the probability of been wrong is 9/10 which is very high.

Mr Buckingham is trying to tell them to be somewhere else that 90% more probable of being a good option so as to maximize their decision making.
